Private email with an epost.plus address

Your own email address, free of ads and spam

Looking for email that respects your privacy and doesn’t bury your inbox in adverts? Personal email at epost.plus runs on Axigen, European mail server software, hosted in UK or EU data centres and built to support compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Open your mailbox today — the Basic mailbox is free.
Beyond the mailbox itself, you get the tools that keep correspondence in order: server-side rules that sort messages into folders before they reach you, labels and search folders for tracking down old threads, archiving by year, and an out-of-office auto-reply. You set all of it up yourself, in your browser.
Private email, not an ad-funded account

Why choose epost.plus?

Free mailboxes from the big providers look like they cost nothing, but the real price is paid elsewhere. Your activity feeds an advertising profile, storage is often capped, and if something goes wrong there is rarely anyone to ask. A free account is also only free for as long as the provider chooses to keep it that way.
Private email at epost.plus works differently. We don’t analyse the content of your messages, we don’t put adverts in your inbox, and we don’t cap how many messages you keep. Your personal email is your own space — secure, organised and free of noise.

Choose your email address — a Basic, Premium or VIP prefix

Your email address is your calling card online. At epost.plus you decide how the part before the @ will look. We offer three types, differing in how they are built and what they cost — from a free Basic account to a short, exclusive VIP address.

Basic address

Format: john.smith35@epost.plus
Rule:
the part before the @ includes a number
The ideal place to start. If you want solid, private email for everyday correspondence, signing up to websites or keeping in touch with friends, a Basic address gives you everything you need. Adding a number avoids clashes with other users and leaves plenty of room to build an address that is yours alone.

Premium address

Format: john.smith@epost.plus
Rule:
a full stop or hyphen, but no numbers
A professional, readable personal email address that looks right on a business card and in a message signature alike. The “firstname.surname” form is widely recognised and reassures the people you write to. It is the most popular choice among those who take their private email seriously.

VIP address

Format: john@epost.plus
Rule: a simple address with no extra characters
A short address people remember the first time they see it. VIP addresses are limited by availability — the sooner you register your first name or nickname, the better your chances of getting the one you want. It suits people who value simplicity and exclusivity in their personal correspondence.

Security designed to protect your privacy

In a world where data breaches and phishing attacks have become routine, email security is no longer a luxury. Private email at epost.plus rests on layered protection that covers your messages at every stage — from the moment you send them, through transmission, to storage on the server.

Reputation and deliverability

Active SPF, DKIM and DMARC policies make it far less likely that messages sent from your epost.plus address land in recipients’ spam folders. We look after the reputation of our sending servers, so your private correspondence arrives where it should.

Protection from spam and malware

Advanced anti-spam and antivirus systems, built on Bitdefender technology, stop threats before they reach your mailbox. Signature databases update automatically, keeping the protection current against the newest attacks, phishing attempts and malware.

Encrypted connections and messages

Every connection to the server is secured with SSL/TLS certificates, and the configuration is checked regularly against independent security tests. If you need a further layer of confidentiality, S/MIME and PGP encryption are supported — with either in place, the content of a message stays unreadable even if the transmission is intercepted.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication is available on the Premium and VIP accounts. We support SMS codes and integration with security systems such as Cisco Duo. So even if your password is compromised, your mailbox stays protected.

Move your email to epost.plus — quickly and free of charge

If you are with another email provider and want to bring your existing correspondence with you, epost.plus helps you migrate your mailbox free of charge. The move is planned so that your communication keeps running — messages, folders and mailbox structure all come across intact.

Every mailbox is also covered by backups kept for up to three months. If you delete something important by accident, it can be brought back.

An email account matched to your needs

Whichever address you choose, it is the account type that determines the features and limits of your private email. The price of the account is added to the price of the address, so you can put together a combination that fits your budget and the way you work.

Basic account — from £0 a year

Free email with full access through your browser (WebMail), unlimited mailbox storage, and messages protected by anti-spam and antivirus filtering at server level. Attachments up to 15 MB and messages up to 30 MB. The Basic account is an excellent starting point for anyone who needs reliable, private email at no cost.

Premium account

Everything the Basic account offers, plus support for the POP3 and IMAP protocols, so you can use a desktop or mobile email app rather than only the browser. Premium adds the personal organiser — calendar, tasks and notes — folder sharing, two-factor authentication, an ad-free WebMail interface, larger attachment limits (up to 35 MB per attachment and 70 MB per message) and more advanced filtering. It suits you if you use email heavily and work across several devices.

VIP account

The highest limits and the most room to work. VIP is the only account with ActiveSync, so mail, calendar and contacts sync instantly to phones and tablets. Attachments up to 70 MB, messages up to 140 MB, up to 9 simultaneous IMAP connections and as many as 600 recipients an hour. This is the account for people who live in their personal email every day and do not want to run into limits.

Private email — frequently asked questions

Private email is a service designed for individuals who care about how their personal data is handled and want their mail to simply work. Unlike free accounts from the big providers, private email at epost.plus never analyses the content of your messages for marketing, offers advanced security features, and gives you a real person to contact when something goes wrong.

Yes. The Basic account with a Basic address (one containing a number) is free of charge. You get a full mailbox with unlimited storage, browser access through WebMail, server-level anti-spam and antivirus filtering, and free migration from your old provider. WebMail carries a banner on this plan; desktop email apps, the personal organiser and two-factor authentication come with Premium and VIP.

It depends on what you want from it. To try the service, take the free Basic address with a number. If you want the address to look professional, consider a Premium address (for example john.doe@epost.plus). And if you value simplicity and an address people remember, go for a VIP address (for example john@epost.plus).

Yes, from the Premium account upwards. Premium and VIP support the IMAP, POP3 and SMTP protocols, so you can connect your mailbox to any email app. eM Client works particularly well: it detects the Axigen server settings automatically and sets the account up in seconds. The Basic account is browser-only.

Our mail servers are hosted in UK or EU data centres, and Axigen is European software — so you get a clear answer to where your mail is held, which supports your own compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We use SSL/TLS encryption, two-factor authentication, SPF, DKIM and DMARC policies, and Bitdefender protection. Our ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications cover quality management and information security.

Yes. We help you migrate your mailbox free of charge, on every account including Basic. The process runs smoothly and asks nothing technical of you.
